The Aerodynamics department is where the aircraft begins to take shape in the air. From airfoil selection and wing design to stability, lift, drag, and performance analysis, the department works to understand and optimize how every surface interacts with the surrounding airflow. Through simulations, calculations, and flight testing, members turn aerodynamic theory into practical design decisions that directly influence how the aircraft performs.

Master the Air

Working in Aerodynamics gives members the opportunity to apply concepts from fluid mechanics and aircraft design to a real flying system. You will learn how to analyse aerodynamic behaviour, interpret simulation results, make engineering trade-offs, and validate theoretical designs through practical testing. More importantly, you develop the ability to approach complex problems analytically and understand how seemingly small design decisions can have a significant impact on overall aircraft performance.
